Halloween 2009

Adam decided that this year he wanted to be G.I. Joe for Halloween. This was taken Wednesday night(10/28) right before we left to go to church for Trunk or Treat. He had a lot of fun there and got a good bit of candy. He was very excited and anxious by the end of the night to dive into his candy and of course, I let him indulge himself, but only a little.

This was Adam on Halloween night. Notice the difference between the two pictures. Ahh yes, you figured it out. No mask in the second one. Well we started out with a mask earlier in the day, but then he broke the string on the back and it could not be repaired so he had to go without the mask. He still had a lot of fun Saturday night. We were spending the weekend with my best friend and her son so we took the kids up to the square in Seneca and got lots of candy. Then we drove over to her church and had fun there celebrating their "Hallelujah Night".

So Blessed and So Thankful!

I feel so blessed in my life for this little boy in the pictures above. There are days when I get so stressed and tired from everyday life, but all it takes is one hug from him or hearing him say "I love you Mama" and my troubles just melt away. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful, healthy child. I thank God every day for him and can only hope that I can continue to be the best mother and example for him to follow.

They Grow Up So Fast!

I thought I would share a few recent images of Adam. It's hard to believe that my little man is getting so big. He has really developed his own personality and way of doing things.

A Long Overdue Update!

So as all of you know, I rarely ever update this blog anymore. LOL I don't know why, but I always seem to forget it. I do, however, have facebook and would love to have you all on my friend's list if you have one yourself. You can look me up either by my name...Tonya Crane Valeka or use my email to look me up.... tvaleka@live.com.

Anyway, Adam and I are doing great. I am currently enrolled in school. I am working on getting my degree in Medical Claims and Billing. I am almost halfway through and hope to be done within the next couple of months. So just keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Been a while since I've been in school.

Camping Trip

Adam and I went with some friends of ours camping a couple of weekends ago. It was his first camping trip and overall, he did exceptionally well.

Catching Up!

Sorry that it has taken me so long to update my blog. I've been busy with random things in life. Adam is doing wonderful. He is 3 years old and very much all boy. I would say that he is well over 40 inches tall now and weighs close to 40 lbs. He has really hit a growth spurt here lately, especially with his feet. His vocabulary has improved drastically and I am very proud of the young man he is becoming. We are still working on the potty training, but I think that will improve with a little more effort and patience. He loves getting into the bathtub now, which if you knew my child from before, you would understand that is an accomplishment. He hated the tub and I would have to force him into it, but now he jumps right in and plays while I wash him off. He is growing up right in front of my eyes and I wish I knew a way to slow him down. LOL

Hard To Believe He's Gotten So Big!

These are just a couple of photos I took of Adam standing outside our house. It's so hard to think of him being this big already. I feel like the past 3 years have flown by.

Just Two More Days

Yep, that's right. Two more days and my baby will be 3 years old! OMG!!! Where has the time gone? I know I say that all the time, but really where does it go? One day, he's a newborn lying peacefully in my arms asleep and the next day, he's 3 years old and getting into everything and learning new skills. I can hardly believe my eyes sometimes when I look at him. I miss the tiny little baby that I once held on my chest while he slept, but I adore the beautiful child he's grown into so far. I caught myself the other day thinking that next year, he will be able to start school if he is ready for it. I've tossed that thought around in my head a few times and I think I have mentally screamed at myself saying, " NOOOOOOOOOOO HE'S NOT GOING!" LOL I would love to keep him home another year and may end up doing it if we think he's not ready for it, but I know he needs that interaction with kids his own age. He is so amazing and such a little wonder to me. I thank God everyday for my healthy and happy child. I honestly don't remember what life was like before him. I mean, I remember bits and pieces of it, but my life now with him is so much better than my life was without him. We are having a party for him on Saturday so I will be sure to post pictures as soon as I get them developed and on disk.

Update

Well just to update, Adam is doing fine. He will be 3 years old next week and I find myself dreading it and looking forward to it at the same time. I don't want him to grow up so fast, but I realize I have no control over it. It's so hard to believe that 3 years have flown by and my baby is growing into a little human being that is so intelligent and outstanding for his age. He is able to pick up on things the first time he sees them and can perform the same task the next time around. His vocabulary has drastically improved and sometimes I catch myself saying things and I don't realize it until it comes out of his mouth that I really have to watch what I say. LOL Anyway, we are both doing great! I'll update more later and post more pictures of his birthday party next week.

Does This Happen with All 3 yr olds?

I've noticed a certain trait in Adam here lately. He has a real problem with being obsessed about things. When I say obsessed, I mean he has to have things a certain way. He will even ask for the same thing over and over and over again. It's weird, but who knows maybe it's normal behavior for someone his age. I really have no clue. It kinda concerns me, but I'm trying not to worry too much. What do yall think? On top of that, his attitude has gotten worse. He has a real bad habit of telling me no when I ask him to do something and then he finds himself sitting on the couch for a while. I keep hoping things will get better, but then I have people tell me that it only gets worse. THANKS A LOT!!!!! Not exactly what I want to hear. Oh well, enough of me rambling. Just had to get that out there.

Duck Pond

This past Sunday was such a beautiful day. We decided to take Adam back to the duck pond so he could feed the ducks again. We have realized that we can't go there without a minimum of 2 loaves of bread. After the duck pond, we went to McDonalds and allowed him to play on the playground. It took a little coaxing, but he went on there and played for a little while. We just enjoyed the beautiful weather that God has given us and spent some quality time together as well.

Like Oil and Water

Can I just say that migraines and 3 year old boys DO NOT mix well!!! I've had a headache pretty much since I woke up this morning and instead of crawling back under the covers and hiding from the world for the day, I pressed on and managed to take care of my little boy. I am so drained that I think I may just fall in bed tonight and hopefully fall asleep where I land. I would blog more, but as you know from reading my post, my head is killing me so more blogging later.

My Growing Boy

Where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday I was holding my newborn son in my arms and marveling over how perfect he was. I never knew how much love I could feel in my heart until the nurse placed that little bundle of joy into my arms for the very first time. All different thoughts ran through my head that day like, "would I be a good mother" or "how is it possible to love someone so much that you've just met". As I watch him grow each day, it amazes me how intelligent and witty he is. He has super analytical skills and I hope they continue to develop and stay with him for the rest of his life. In a matter of 1 month and 1 week, he will turn 3 years old. Now I understand what my mother meant when she always told me to quit growing up so fast. I want him to grow and be healthy, but I would love for him to stay the age he is right now. And yes, he does have a temper and we do have times when I have to be strict and enforce rules, but the precious times outweigh all of that. There is nothing better than having him crawl up in my lap, hug my neck, and tell me he loves me. He is such a an amazing child and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him. So little man, if you ever read this one day, I want you to know that I love you with all my heart and I will always be here for you no matter what.

A Horse is a Horse..Oh Wait..Maybe It's a Fish!

Yes my child loves animals as I'm sure you all know. Well he has decided that everytime he sees a horse, he calls it a fish. I have tried to explain to him that a fish lives in water and a horse lives in a pasture, but apparently he's not grasping that concept because the very next time he sees a horse, he says "fish". I am very proud of his speech so far and we are working on taking away his pacifier completely so hopefully his speech will drastically improve once that's out of the picture. He has taken naps recently without it and didn't even ask for it. Now onto bedtime and who knows maybe soon, it will be gone for GOOD!!!!

Update and Pics

Adam with his animals on the couch.

I took this picture when we went to Logan's to eat Sunday night.

So here's a short little update since I haven't blogged in a while. Adam is doing great. He is learning more and more everyday and improving on so many levels. His vocabulary is very impressive now. I am so pleased with how well he picks up on things, but on edge at the same time. He is completely in the stage where he wants to imitate everything he sees other people doing so we have to constantly watch ourselves to make sure we aren't doing something that we wouldn't want him doing. The only thing I can say is his temper has gotten worse here lately, but I'm trying to be patient and work with him on it. So there's an update for everyone. I'll do my best to keep you guys updated on how things are and hopefully take more pics to post on here.
