My Growing Boy

Where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday I was holding my newborn son in my arms and marveling over how perfect he was. I never knew how much love I could feel in my heart until the nurse placed that little bundle of joy into my arms for the very first time. All different thoughts ran through my head that day like, "would I be a good mother" or "how is it possible to love someone so much that you've just met". As I watch him grow each day, it amazes me how intelligent and witty he is. He has super analytical skills and I hope they continue to develop and stay with him for the rest of his life. In a matter of 1 month and 1 week, he will turn 3 years old. Now I understand what my mother meant when she always told me to quit growing up so fast. I want him to grow and be healthy, but I would love for him to stay the age he is right now. And yes, he does have a temper and we do have times when I have to be strict and enforce rules, but the precious times outweigh all of that. There is nothing better than having him crawl up in my lap, hug my neck, and tell me he loves me. He is such a an amazing child and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him. So little man, if you ever read this one day, I want you to know that I love you with all my heart and I will always be here for you no matter what.

A Horse is a Horse..Oh Wait..Maybe It's a Fish!

Yes my child loves animals as I'm sure you all know. Well he has decided that everytime he sees a horse, he calls it a fish. I have tried to explain to him that a fish lives in water and a horse lives in a pasture, but apparently he's not grasping that concept because the very next time he sees a horse, he says "fish". I am very proud of his speech so far and we are working on taking away his pacifier completely so hopefully his speech will drastically improve once that's out of the picture. He has taken naps recently without it and didn't even ask for it. Now onto bedtime and who knows maybe soon, it will be gone for GOOD!!!!

Update and Pics

Adam with his animals on the couch.

I took this picture when we went to Logan's to eat Sunday night.

So here's a short little update since I haven't blogged in a while. Adam is doing great. He is learning more and more everyday and improving on so many levels. His vocabulary is very impressive now. I am so pleased with how well he picks up on things, but on edge at the same time. He is completely in the stage where he wants to imitate everything he sees other people doing so we have to constantly watch ourselves to make sure we aren't doing something that we wouldn't want him doing. The only thing I can say is his temper has gotten worse here lately, but I'm trying to be patient and work with him on it. So there's an update for everyone. I'll do my best to keep you guys updated on how things are and hopefully take more pics to post on here.
